Price of CBAM certificates for Q2 2026 announced

The European Commission, in accordance with the approved schedule, on July 6, 2026 officially announced the price of Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism ( CBAM) certificates  for the second quarter of 2026 - €75.28/t CO2e .

This is the second official price announcement. Comparing the second quarter of 2026 with the first, the price of PADKM certificates remained very stable - it decreased by only €0.08 . From the first quarter rate (€75.36/t CO2e)

This price was calculated based on the average of the first quarter of the allowance prices set in the European Union Emissions Trading System ( EU ETS) auctions.

This tariff will become the financial basis for calculating the tax on greenhouse gas emissions contained in goods imported into the European Union during the months of April, May and June.

We remind you that the quarterly price is always calculated in the first calendar week of the following quarter. Business entities can find official data on the European Commission's  CBAM website .

According to the schedule approved by the European Commission, prices for the later quarters of 2026 will be published on the following dates:

  • For the 3rd quarter  – October 5, 2026.
  • For the 4th quarter  – January 4, 2027.

The purchase of CBAM certificates will only begin  on February 1, 2027.  Financial settlement will be carried out retroactively for all CBAM goods imported in 2026 and the first quarter of 2027. Importers are encouraged to continue to carefully collect and verify emissions data in order to successfully prepare for future settlements.
